Frequently Asked Questions
What makes Space Bag watertight and airtight?
Three design features work together to create the airtight seal and maintain the vacuum in Space Bag.
What are the advantages of vacuum-sealing?
The most common enemies of stored items are dirt, mildew, insects and water, along with oxidation and ultraviolet light. Oxidation causes discoloration and accelerates the spread of any stains present in fabric. Vacuum-sealing drastically reduces the effects of oxidation and retards growth of mildew. Most importantly, vacuum-sealing compresses many items and saves valuable storage space.
How long does the Space Bag vacuum seal last?
Approximately 12 months, after which the bag can be resealed.
What items cannot be stored in Space Bag?
Do not use Space Bag to store food items or items made of leather or fur. If you have questions regarding the effects of vacuum-storage on a specific item, check with the manufacturer. Precaution: Items filled with down and feathers can be vacuum-sealed, but compressing them more than about 50% may damage feathers and reduce their insulating ability.
What temperature range is safe for storing items in Space Bag Products?
Space Bag should be stored in areas where temperatures will not exceed 130 degrees F. or fall below 0 degrees F.
How often should items be removed?
Every six months, air out and restore loft by fluffing or tumbling in dryer set on "cool."
Are Space Bag Products guaranteed?
There is a 30-day, unconditional, money back guarantee on Space Bag. In addition, we guarantee that the product will be completely free of manufacturing defects for a full year from the date of purchase. If not, simply let us know, and we'll gladly assist you with a prompt, courteous exchange.
Will moving a sealed Space bag from one location to another affect the vacuum seal?
The Sure-Zipô closure system is sturdy but it can be jarred or flexed open with rough handling. To make sure the Space Bag seal holds, do not hold or carry the sealed bag near the zipper. Carry the bag vertically (zipper up) to minimize stress on the closure system. Hold at or near the middle of the bag and store the bag vertically (zipper up) or lying flat.
How much does Space Bag reduce volume?
Volume can be reduced by up to 100% to double your storage space, depending on the items placed in the bag. Filled comforters and jackets will compress more than blankets and sweaters.
What is the most common use for the Space Bag vacuum-seal bag?
Everyday household storage of "soft" items such as pillows, comforters, linens, sweaters, etc., is the most common use.
What type of zip closure is used?
Polyethylene plastic, like the zipper on a sandwich bag. The main difference is that a sandwich bag zipper is not airtight. The Space Bag zipper is airtight and watertight.
How thick are the bags?
2.2 millimeters thick.
How big are the bags?
Jumbo bag: 89cm x 121cm = 185g Large bag: 54cm x 85cm = 90g XL bag: 67cm x 100cm = 105g Medium bag: 45cm x 57cm = 60g Large Travel: 45cm x 57cm = 50g Medium Travel: 34cm x 49cm = 35g XL Cube: 60cm x 93cm x 14cm Jumbo Cube: 88cm x 108cm x 20cm Jumbo Stack Tote: 65cm x 50cm 26cm Hanging Suit: 70cm x 104cm Hanging Dress: 70cm x 144cm
Are clothes wrinkled when they are taken out of the bags?
It depends on the fabric. Cottons may need touch-up with an iron.
